IBC Pride Happy Hour creates a safe, inclusive space, and brings much needed visibility to the LGBTQ+ community at IBC. It’s an opportunity for the broadcast and media technology industry’s LGBTQ+ community, allies and friends to come together, make genuine and lasting connections, and of course celebrate diversity.
Paul Pastor, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer, Quickplay, commented: “It’s fantastic to see how this event has grown since it was launched in 2024, helping to bring positive representation and of course inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community within the media technology world. At Quickplay, I am proud of our commitment to giving diverse communities pathways forward, especially at events like this popular Pride Happy Hour. It is a reminder of a powerful core truth: the strength in allyship is progress.”
Robert Ambrose, Co-Founder, Caretta Research, added: “When we started IBC Pride in 2024, we quickly realised we had a hit on our hands when we ran out of space in The Traveller pub at the RAI. After doubling the space last year, it’s now firmly established as ‘the’ social event on the Friday evening IBC calendar, attracting not only our LGBTQ+ industry colleagues but everyone who loves the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. It’s hugely important to have that visibility at IBC, creating a space where people can connect and celebrate.”
Vijay Sajja, Chief Executive Officer & Founder, Evergent Technologies, added: “Diversity and inclusion should be the norm, not the exception, and events like IBC Pride are crucial to help build a culture of belonging and inclusion within our industry.”
Tim Sewell, Chief Executive Officer, Yospace, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring our first IBC Pride Happy Hour. It’s quickly become the essential event of IBC’s opening day, creating an inclusive and fun space which is usually hard to find at a major trade show.”
