Vienna, Austria, 11 September, 2026 – Bitmovin, a leading provider of video streaming solutions, has announced that Australia’s largest media company, Nine Entertainment (Nine), has deployed Bitmovin’s AI Scene Analysis within its SVOD streaming service, Stan, to enhance its encoding workflows and unlock new revenue opportunities.
Stan is Australia’s leading and only locally-owned SVOD service offering access to thousands of hours of entertainment.
By using Bitmovin’s AI Scene Analysis, which is pre-integrated into Bitmovin’s VOD Encoder to enable seamless deployment, Nine has been able to securely process Stan’s entire content catalogue automatically to generate granular metadata that reflects the context of every scene. This enables Nine to deliver more personalized viewing experiences, better ad targeting, and automatically identify the best opportunities for ad placement, saving time and money and helping content to perform better across search, discovery and monetization.
John Hogan, Chief Technology Officer, Nine, commented: “Bitmovin’s AI Scene Analysis has transformed how our content team works. Ad placement approvals would have taken a lot of manual effort and time but can now move much faster, and this newfound speed and efficiency is letting us monetize titles across our catalog much more easily.”
Reinhard Grandl, Chief Product Officer, Bitmovin, added: “Stan’s extensive catalogue comprises over 17,000 assets including highly localized content, reality TV shows, scripted content and movies, and to truly enhance workflows and unlock revenue opportunities, it needed a solution capable of understanding the nuances presented by such a diverse catalog. Bitmovin’s AI Scene Analysis is built to do exactly that, helping Nine turn content it already owns into new revenue, right inside the workflow their team already uses.”
Bitmovin is exhibiting at IBC from 11th – 14th September in hall 5, stand 5.F72. For more information about Bitmovin and to book a meeting, visit: https://bitmovin.com/ibc/.
