Ledbury, Herefordshire, 12 March 2024 – The Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) has announced that its European Workshop will take place at ETL Systems in Herefordshire, UK. Taking place on 26th and 27th June, the workshop will bring together operators, manufacturers, and vendors in order to discuss the technical aspects of the latest changes within the satcom landscape.
SIG promotes cooperation among industry stakeholders to propel innovation and maximise the potential of satcom. With NewSpace transforming the communication landscape, the agenda will focus on technical topics such as Digital IF, RF interference, and antenna approvals, as well as the ongoing challenge of talent acquisition within the industry.
Host, ETL Systems, designs and builds essential elements of critical satellite communications infrastructure. The company offers a full suite of solutions between the antenna and the modem for both the uplink and downlink chains. ETL has expanded its range to include instrumentation and measurement equipment for the set up and testing of RF chains through its acquisition of Atlantic Microwave Ltd.
Helen Weedon, SIG Managing Director, commented: ‘SIG workshops bring together some of the most important stakeholders within the industry to address the technical challenges behind some of the most advanced operations within satcom. I would like to thank our longstanding member, ETL Systems, for hosting what will be a significant and interesting event.’
Andrew Bond, ETL Systems Sales and Marketing Director, added: ‘We are at the forefront of an evolving industry, and it is critical to examine and deliberate technical observations within operations. Having a platform which allows discussion among organisations from all aspects of the industry is crucial, and we are therefore very excited to host SIG’s European Workshop this June.’
Registrations for the SIG European Workshop are now open. This event is free to attend for SIG members. Register here.

About SIG
With an era of new requirements upon us, such as request fulfilment and incident management, the Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) aims to promote innovation in the satellite communication industry to improve operational efficiency and reduce impact, saving time and money. As an open forum to generate innovative thinking, it enables the industry to come together and discuss current challenges. This helps manufacturers and service providers to deliver innovations and solutions that respond more precisely to those challenges. Those solutions will then be promoted through SIG channels, including events, website, social media, and in discussions with SIG’s industry network.
