Riga, Latvia, 23 July 2025 – Cloud playout solutions provider, Veset has been chosen by Mediterranean TV station, MED.TV to distribute its linear and on-demand content across multiple platforms. MED.TV now operates its broadcast workflows entirely in the cloud using cloud-based playout solution, Nimbus, an enterprise-grade, cloud playout management platform designed to streamline professional linear channel operations.
Based in Malta, MED.TV is dedicated to showcasing the cultural heritage, natural beauty, vibrant traditions, and Mediterranean way of life, to a global audience. It does this through a range of live coverage, travelogues, culinary shows, business, lifestyle and cultural programming that are available through its linear channel as well as on-demand. MED.TV distributes its content across satellite TV, web, mobile, TV Apps, and Nimbus has allowed it to optimise distribution for both traditional and modern viewing, enabling broad reach across both IP-based and legacy infrastructure.
Nimbus has enabled MED.TV to efficiently manage its channels with on-air graphics and multi-user capabilities. Its schedule-driven visual elements enhance the viewer experience, while allowing multiple MED.TV operators to carry out channel management tasks simultaneously, for maximum efficiency.
MED.TV is also able to efficiently ingest content by enabling automated ingest of assets directly into the channel pipeline, alongside metadata, which is automated through a custom XML sidecar import mechanism. This ensures all content is enriched and structured to meet editorial requirements. On the output side, Nimbus provides MED.TV with customised XMLTV-based EPG exports to deliver accurate and localised electronic program guides across various distribution platforms and partners.
Martins Magone, CTO, Veset, commented: “The way that viewers consume content has changed significantly over recent years and broadcasters must ensure they can satisfy viewer demands however they choose to consume content, whether that is by a linear channel or on-demand, and on whatever device they choose. By choosing Nimbus and moving its broadcast workflows to the cloud, MED.TV will be better positioned to do exactly that.”
Manolo Mantovani, COO, MED.TV, added: “With its advanced capabilities and extensive feature list, Veset Nimbus met all our requirements, which included enhanced flexibility and redundancy, efficient day-to-day management, dynamic graphics capabilities, and multiple-user access. We were also very happy with Veset’s rapid onboarding process, which took only one month from project initiation to full channel launch.”
