Vienna, Austria | October 21, 2025 - Bitmovin, leading provider of video streaming solutions, has announced that its internal playback stream testing system for the Bitmovin Player now leverages AI analysis, enabling it to process over 1 million stream tests every week. Additionally, Bitmovin’s automated video stream testing solution, Stream Lab, has been given an updated UX, and now also supports a new remote testing location, the Middle East region.
Viewers today watch content across a wide range of devices, and delivering consistent high-quality streams across all these devices is a complex challenge for streaming services. With the new AI-powered testing infrastructure, Bitmovin are running and processing over 1 million tests per week across more than 180 different device types. This extensive testing framework uses AI analysis to determine the root cause of issues, the results of which are used by Bitmovin to power its weekly SDK releases. This ensures that the Bitmovin Player delivers a consistent quality of experience across devices, giving video services confidence that viewers can watch in the highest possible quality no matter what device they are watching on.
Additionally, new features have also been added to Bitmovin’s automated video stream testing solution, Stream Lab. The new release features an improved UX that makes it faster for video service providers to set up and run tests, and also makes it easier to group tests based on different device types. Bitmovin has also expanded the number of locations supported by Stream Lab by extending its VPN testing locations to include the Middle East region.
James Varndell, Senior Director of Product Management, Bitmovin, commented: “Bitmovin is committed to helping video services provide the highest quality of video playback across every device, and as such, we’re continually innovating to improve both our internal playback testing and our customer stream testing solution, Stream Lab. Using AI to analyze stream test results means we can analyze over a million tests every week which ensures that the Bitmovin Player delivers a consistently high quality of experience.”
